2021/ July 18 - Environmental Dialogue

'Environmental Dialogue' was a hybrid of outdoor installation and musical performance. The wildness of the garden became the stage for nine musicians playing string instruments. Each performer positioned themselves in the garden and then moved freestyle through the grass while the audience entered and mingled with the musicians, who were either seated in chairs or standing. The atmosphere shifted between lyrical sound drifts and confrontational jams.

The music performed was inspired by the score 'Sonic Mediations' written by Pauline Oliveros, an American composer, accordionist, and creator of 'Deep Listening' practice. 'Sonic Meditations', published in 1974, has become one of the most seminal works of late 20th-century avant-garde music.
